As the daughter of an architect, I was raised amidst blueprints and sketches on the North Shore of Long Island, New York. From a young age, I developed a passion for design, spending hours sketching cityscapes in pencil and ink. At the same time, I began my journey in the performing arts, starting the cello at age eight. Over the years, I found a way to merge my love for both worlds, ultimately earning undergraduate and graduate degrees in Advertising and Cello Performance.
I have been told that my pieces capture the inspiration drawn from my father's work as an architect, while my background in classical music subtly inform the rhythm and flow of the composition, creating a melodious harmony between structure and fluidity.
This complex interweaving of spontaneity with discipline create an engaging narrative.
Merging seemingly disparate elements into a cohesive whole is a challenge that I embrace as an artist. The complexity and depth of each work weave together a rich visual narrative that resonates differently with each viewer—something I believe is at the heart of compelling abstract art.
I like to work in acrylic paint, ink, pencil and oil stick on stretched canvas. Working in mixed media gives me the freedom to merge movement and order, using the brush to convey an intricate symphony of color and form that resonates on both a literal and abstract level.
I use bold, vibrant color palettes, which capture attention yet maintain balance between contrasting shades. Black lines connect and outline shapes and guide the viewer’s eye across the canvas, crafting an invisible narrative that intertwines the elements.
I create these pieces in my home studio in Centerport, New York where I live with my husband, son and cocker spaniel. Yes! Pieces arrive on the original stretched canvas, ready to hang. They are carefully packed to ensure they arrive safely in original condition.
I only sell original pieces and you will receive a Certificate of Authenticity with each piece. Each painting is signed by me on the back, along with the title of the piece. Each piece is one of a kind, there are no replicas.
I do paint the sides of the canvas as part of the work. Therefore, pieces are unframed. If you are interested in framing a piece once you receive it, I recommend finding a local frame shop who has worked with framing stretched canvas before.
All pieces are sealed with a UV protection varnish and signed on the back. Extreme care has been taken to show the artwork as accurately as possible, there may be differences due to varying browsers, devices or screen settings - colors of each piece may shift slightly on different screens.
